September Player of the Month: Ryan Giggs

September was a successful month for Manchester United. But, there is only one player, who deserves to be crowned September’s player of the month. It is, of course Ryan Giggs. Six assists in three games, and two goals, both of them being free kicks, and both of them being very crucial.
Over the last fortnight, games against Man City, Stoke and Wolfsburg were matches in which the veteran found the most success, and the impact he had on those games were vital all in its own way, and despite turning 36 in November, Ryan Giggs shows no sign of ageing.
He still has his pace, something that players lose at this age. And he has now found more space to express himself. He finds more of the ball now that Ronaldo has gone, and when he does find the ball he can easily spot a player in a good position.
And unlike last season, he will play far more often. That looks probable. And unlike last season, he won’t warm the bench as often. Sure he will be rotated, but should now be considered as one of the key players of the first team.
“All Ryan is doing at the moment is continuing to play,” said Sir Alex Ferguson, who was full of praise. “The amazing thing is he shows this incredible youthfulness about his performance. It is as if he has just started his career. You can give him as many as you like, he doesn’t get affected by it, which is good. What more can you say? He is continuing like a young man. He is enjoying his football, which is wonderful to see.”

At the Inukshuk Foundation our goal is to fill in the gaps in community services and programs across Canada to help at risk youth complete their education.
Since reinstating our charity status in 2009 we’ve been hard at work to get our first initiative off the ground: creating Inukshuk Fields in Scarborough, Ontario. With your donations we can make our first project a solid success.
